SAR Member War Veterans Military Service Awards
The SAR War Service Medal was first authorized in 1899 for members who served in the Spanish-American War. It was subsequently authorized for members who served in World War I and World War II. Following World War II, the NSSAR authorized a generic War Service Medal with specific service periods indicated by bronze bars. Compatriot William Teater, Veterans Programs Chairman of the Withlacoochee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, recently awarded SAR Compatriot Veterans, War Service medals Service Bars and Certificates to those who served in combat in the service of their country.
William Teater, Veterans Programs Chairman, presented the Certificate and Korean War Medal with Korean Service Bar to Compatriot Chauncey Reich of Dunnellon.
Compatriot John Hellem of Brooksville, was awarded the Certificates and Korean and Vietnam War Medals and Service Bars by William Teater, Veterans Programs Chairman.
Compatriots Thomas Bowen of Spring Hill, and Dale Hash of Inglis were awarded the Certificate and Vietnam War Medal and Service Bars by William Teater, Veterans Programs Chairman.
Compatriot Richard Bailey of Spring Hill, was awarded the Certificate and Vietnam War Medal and SE Asia Service Bars by William Teater, Veterans Programs Chairman.
