USS Stark (Veterans Service Report) CO First Place Withlacoochee and Saramana
Brevard was 2nd and Clearwater 3rd
Silver Roger Sherman Presentations to
Norman R. Freyer, Edward R. Gingrich, and Jack L Townsend, Jr.
[I need to mention here that Jack and Marlene Townsend were at the Saturday Night Banquet and ate with us – so Jack was present to receive his Silver Roger Sherman Medal in person]

Awarded to Rev. Dr. Randy D Moody and Steven A. Williams

A Past President Certificate was presented to Larry D. Sturgeon
Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Past State President, Robert J Folk Sr.
Certificate of Distinguished Service was presented to Charles L Day Jr.
A Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster for a Meritorious Service Medal was presented to
Robert J Folk, Sr.
-- Note: Past State President Robert Folk was present throughout the BOM ….He had a number of duties.
Saturday Youth Luncheon ---- Our Table included Caleb (State Winner), and Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard – Charlie and Dot and Day, John Stewart (state Essay Chairman) and Larry Sturgeon (Chairman of State Youth Contest Committee)
Caleb Sheppard was introduced and he read his Essay ,which is also the National First Place Winner this year. By the way – Caleb and his parents will not be going to California to accept his award at National SAR Congress. They feel they have more than enough to keep them busy here. His award will be sent/or brought to him here in Florida.
Larry Sturgeon displayed the Winning State Poster for this year –
The winner was from Withlacoochee Chapter - Carole Ann Trombley ,4th grade, Hernando Elementary School. She will receive $150. From the State SAR an $75. From the State Ladies Auxiliary.
Other State awards were made for JROTC , Eagle Scout, and American History
Teacher Award.
Saturday night was installation of officers and presentation of the 4 new
Patriot Medal recipients.

Dick Young from Tampa
And James Gibson from Clearwater
Saturday evening Banquet. Scott and Myra Bushnell, Robert Folk and Dot and Charlie Day dined together
Lee Popham is our new Florida SAR President
David Bussone is our new Sr. Vice President
