On May 23, 2019 Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander presented SAR Good Citizen Awards to 5th grade Lecanto Primary School graduation students at their graduation ceremony. About 300 attended this affair.

At 9:30 am on May 20, 2019 Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander presented SAR Good Citizen Awards to eleven (11) 5th grade students at the graduation exercises of the Central Ridge Elementary School. Attendance was about 350.

At 2:00 pm on May 20, 2019 Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander presented SAR Good Citizen Awards to thirteen (13) 5th grade students at the graduation exercises of the Homosassa Elementary School. There were about 250 in attendance.

At 6:00 pm on May 20, 2019 Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander, presented SAR Good Citizen Awards to three 5th grade students. The occasion was the graduation exercises of the Floral City 5th grade Elementary School which was held at the United Methodist Church in Floral City. There were about 200 in attendance. Becky Gibson, SAR auxiliary member was the photographer.

May 7. 2019, Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander, attended Chrystal River Middle School "Academnic Achievers": award night. This was held at Curtis Peterson Auditorium in Lecanto. Russ presented "Good Citizenship Certificates" to 6th graders, Aidian Cordero Santana(L) and Garrett Brown(R). There were about 450 people in attendance.

Dick Young, SAR state treasurer, Tampa Chapter....This is the 26th annual Veterans Day Parade in Inverness. Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander: Dave Hitchcock: Bill Ferguson, Vice Commander: Dick Young, SAR State Treasurer of the Tampa Chapter. The parade was well attended by 100's perhaps 1,000's of people.

September 18, 2018 September 18, 2018 at the Citrus County Courthouse in courtroom B, a Constitution Week History Lesson was presented by Judge Richard "Ric" Howard. The event was coordinated by Commander Russ Gibson. About 60 people attended and heard about the History of the Constitution.

On July 1, 2018, Russ Gibson, SAR Color Guard Commander and a member of the Nature Coast Young Marines Posted The Colors at the Nature Coast Community Band Concert held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. There were about 500 people in attendance.

On May 18, 2018 Withlacoochee Chapter Past President Charles Day and Chapter President Larry Sturgeon participated in Posting and Retiring the Colors during The Spring Board of Management (BOM) & Annual Meeting held at Embassy Suites Orlando - Lake Buena Vista South, 4955 Kyngs Heath Road, Kissimmee, Florida, 34746. FLSSAR President Robert Folk, Norman Freyer, Past President Charles Day, Chapter President Larry Sturgeon Dot Day and Ellie Folk were in attendance. This was a national event with President General Larry T. Guzy
On June 14, 2018, Color Guard Commander Russ Gibson, Vice-Commander Bill Ferguson, Treasurer Jack Townsend presented the colors at the Flag Day Ceremony at the downtown Floral City Community House. This was sponsored by The American Legion Herburt Surber Post 225 About 40 people attended and Becky Gibson was the photographer.

June 12, 2018 at the request of the Fort Cooper DAR, Russel Gibson, Commander of the Withlacoochee Chapter Color Guard Presented and Retired the Colors at Duval House Historic Marker Presentation. Built in 1865-66, by former soldier, John Paul Formy-Duval, the Duval House is the oldest extant residential structure in Citrus County. The Fort Cooper DAR, the Historical Resources Advisory Board and the Duval Presentation Trust were all players in this event. SAR Color Guard members who participated were Commander Russ Gibson, Chapter President Larry Sturgeon, Treasurer Jack Townsend and Vice-Commander William Ferguson. James Echlin also attended as well as Becky Gibson who took the pictures. Some 40 people attended.

May 30, 2018 Withlacoochee Chapter SAR Color Guard Commander Russell Gibson and Color Guard Members Bill Ferguson and Jack Townsend along with DAR Members met with The Floral City Flag Day Committee to coordinate final plans for the Flag Days Ceremonies in Floral City. Flag Day is the 14th day of June.

On May 28, 2018 The Withlacoochee Chapter SAR Color Guard participated in the 44th Annual Memorial Day Observance at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, Florida. Participating were Color Guard Commander Russell Gibson, Chapter President Larry Sturgeon, FLSSAR State Treasurer Richard Young, Chapter Treasurer Jack Townsend, Compatriots Bill Ferguson and Leonard Crawford.

The Withlachoochee Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson Camp # 11 Color Guard, participated for the 15th year in Clover Leaf Farms St. Patrick Day Parade on March 16, 2018. Russel Gibson, Color Guard Commander coordinated the event with Bob Folk, Charlie Day, Jack Townsend, Bill Ferguson, Lenny Crawford of the Guard also participating. A $50 check was received in appreciation for the Guard's attendance.

The Citrus Memorial Health Foundation received an SAR Flag Certificate on February 9th, 2018 in recognition of exemplary patriotism for their display of The Flag of the United States of America. The certificate was presented by the Withlacoochee Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. 8 February 2018 Russ Gibson, Color Guard Commander and Jack Townsend, Treasurer of The Withlachoochee Chapter SAR along with 1 Member of the SAR held a meeting with 2 Floral City Library personnel to plan for Flag Day and to see if the American Legion, Boy Scouts, DAR and SAR can get more involved in the Flag Day program. The host was TerriAnne Caraluzzo with the meeting being held at the Floral City Library.
13 January 2018 the Color Guard posted the Colors at the regular January Member's meeting. The Meeting was held at The Citrus Hills Garden Room with 44 members and 13 guests in attendance. Color Guard dress was Continental, Hunters, Blazer w/tricorn. Color Guard consisted of Russ Gibson, Commander, Jack Townsend and Bill Ferguson.
