Vicki Brown Awarded the Lydia Darragh Medal Award
SAR Withlacoochee Chapter President Clyde Johnson awarded the Lydia Darragh Medal to Ms. Vicki Brown at the Chapter General Meeting in January. The purpose of this medal is to recognize the lady that the Chapter President determines to have been the most helpful to him during his tenure in the progressive line. The particular lady must have been involved for a minimum of three years. Only one award is permitted each year and it is only designated by the incumbent Chapter President. She was instrumental in assisting in genealogical records processing for new members through the SAR State and National membership registration levels. Her efforts have resulted in a 17% increase in new chapter members. Pictured below from left to right are retiring Chapter President Clyde Johnson, and medal recipient Vicki Brown.

White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico
March 2014
Ellie finished the walk marathon in 7 hrs, 58 mins, 22 secs. It was a very difficult race, lots of sand on much of the trails. It circled around a mountain, came down the opposite site, and lots of other little hills to master. When I finally came close to the finish line, thoughts at that time was, I will never do this again! Now, a week later, I have thoughts of doing it again.
I had the opportunity to meet and get signatures of several of the survivors that were able to attend the event this year. God only knows that at this time next year, there may be less of them. Ellie Folk - President / Ladies Auxiliary / Withlacoochee Chapter
