Mulligan Awarded SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Medal
The Withlacoochee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recognizes persons whose achievements are noteworthy in their school, community or state by awarding that person with the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal. This medal was authorized by the National Society of the SAR in 1895. It was with great pleasure that the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Medal and certificate was awarded to Gerry Mulligan, President and Publisher of the Citrus County Chronicle. The Chronicle under his leadership has been strongly positioned as the community newspaper, and that position is heavily influenced by his commitment to the Citrus County community as a whole. The Chapter recognizes that the Chronicle it is very supportive of local and county organizations and activities including education, the arts, business, veteran’s affairs, religion, local politics, various service organizations, and others. The award was presented at the March meeting of the Withlacoochee Chapter of the SAR held at the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club.
