Joint Meeting with Fort Cooper DAR
On January 6, 2015 the Ft. Cooper Chapter, NSDAR, and the Withlacoochee Chapter, FLSSAR, held a combined meeting recognizing the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, and those veterans who served with honor in the conflict. A number of those veterans were present at the event, and they were introduced and honored by individual sponsors with a certificate recognizing their service. Wives of veterans who served were also recognized for their support of the veterans in service. The “Missing Man Ceremony” was conducted by DAR and SAR participants, remembering those 1641 participants in the conflict still missing. The highlight of the session was the oral presentation regarding the current state of veteran’s affairs by John Stewart, Chief Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret.).
