Governor's Veterans Service Award Ceremony
Crystal River, Florida National guard Armory

The Governor's Veterans Service Award Ceremony was held at the Crystal River National guard Armory on November 21, 2017. Veterans who provided valid identification of their active duty status or Honorable Discharge status were encouraged to register for recognition at the event.
Governor Rick Scott Presided over the event and had a number of willing helpers including Citrus County Sheriff, Mike Prendergast. Governor Scott made opening remarks noting that Florida was the most Veteran Friendly State in the nation. He also touched on his efforts and that of the FDVA. All award Ribbons and Medals were personally presented by the Governor. It was an upbeat occasion with a few scattered
tender moments.
Our Withlacoochee SAR Chapter had four members receiving awards this time.
