FLSSAR Winter Board Meeting January 11, 2013
The membership of the Board Of Management shall include only persons who are members in good standing of the Florida State Sons of the American Revolution.

Eagle Court of Honor - Thomas W. Daughtery February 2, 2013
On February 2nd, 2013, Thomas W. Daugherty of Boy Scout Troop 302 gained the high honorable rank of Eagle Scout at the Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, Florida.

Memorial Book Dedication - William Neal Colbath February 12, 2013 The Withlacoochee Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution gathered at the Floral City Library to dedicate a Memorial Library Book to Compatriot William Neal Colbath of Floral City, Florida.

US Navy Sea Cadet Corp (NSCC) - March 10, 2013
March 10, 2013 at 1:00 PM we met with Sea Cadet Instructor and Coast Guard personnel at US Coast Guard Station at Yankeetown, Florida. We were given a tour of the facilities for both the Sea Cadets and the Coast Guard Station.

Last Naval Battle - 230th Anniversary March 9, 2013
"The history of this great nation seems to be fading fast in the minds of our citizens. The sacrifices our forefathers made t give us the freedoms we enjoy have been buried by most of the media these days. Only the brave journalists dare to cover patriotic events - and only brave publishers will print their stories. Political correctness and the “dumbing down” of Americans has all but erased the memories of our glorious fight for freedom. The Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution are presently fighting this trend. We are lobbying state and local governments to bring early American and colonial history back into our classrooms.
Events such as this one are designed to remind everyone of the importance of the American Revolution and the brave men and women who created this wonderful country of ours." - Ben DuBose

Our mission: is to participate and execute the Veterans Day Parade in Inverness, Florida to honor and thank all U.S. military Veterans for their sacrifices; to promote patriotism in our community; to perpetuate a positive image of American Veterans; and to foster pride in service to our country.
