SAR and Walmart Deliver Christmas Gifts to Veterans without Family
Compatriots of Sons of the American Revolution and the employees of the Homosassa Walmart prepare for the delivery of Christmas gifts to veterans housed at the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home in Land O’Lakes, FL. Representatives of the two organizations conduct this annual event to honor those veterans housed at the facility who are without family. Walmart employees personally fund the purchase of gifts for the veterans. The Withlacoochee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution also funds the purchase of gift items needed by the veterans. Gifts include clothing, toiletries, books, hats, CD’ s, DVD’s, patriotic items, game support, and digital game equipment.

On August 18, 2015 Compatriots Larry Sturgeon and Ron Powell presented the Homosassa Walmart with an Outstanding Citizen Award in recognition of their compassion, support and contributions to the Sons of the American Revolution by providing Christmas gifts to Veterans without Families at the Baldomero Lopez Veterans' State
Nursing Home.
