Fall Board of Management Meeting

The Fall Board of Management (BOM) Meeting was held October 23 and 24 at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center, Orlando Florida. State President Lawrence G. Fehrenbaker Sr. presided over the business sessions.
Chapter representatives present at the entire BOM sessions were Chapter President - Clyde Johnson and past presidents Charles Day and Robert Folk. Ellie Folk put the Chapter Basket together and was present both days as was Dot Day
A number of training sessions were held over the two days - training for Chapter Secretaries, Youth Activities, Editor, and “Back to Basics”. We had Members attend all sessions. The many National Awards that were presented to the Florida State Society at last summer’s National Conference were reviewed and appreciated.
Saturday meeting was largely the discussion and acceptance of reports. The FLSSAR Ladies Auxiliary also held their meeting. Friday night was a social and Banquet. The evening entertainment program was William and Cara Elder, Daytona-Ormond SAR Chapter in portrayals of George and Martha Washington. Their presentation was warmly received. Color Guard Commander, Charles Day and Vice Commander, Hall Ridiger were presented NSSAR Silver Color Guard Medals by President Lawrence G. Fehrenbaker. The Florida Sons of Liberty Brigade presented and retired the Colors for the evening banquet.
The representatives attending felt the time was very well spent throughout the two days.

FLSSAR Sergeant-at-Arms Bob Folk receives Multiple NSSAR Streamers
at the Fall BOM. Withlacoochee Chapter Compatriot Bob Folk, FLSSAR Sergeant-at-Arms, received 5 NSSAR streamers and certificates recognizing Support for the NSSAR Center, NSSAR Officer Award, Americanism Poster Contest Participant, Outstanding JROTC Cadet Participant, Knight Essay Participant and King Eagle Scout Participant. As FLSSAR Sergeant-at- Arms, it is Folk’s responsibility to attach them to the Chapter streamer bracket. Making the streamers presentation was FLSSAR Sr. Vice President Raymond Wess.
