The business meeting included election of officers. Lawrence Fehrenbaker of Naples Chapter was elected state president, Withlacoochee Chapter member, Robert Folk, was elected Sgt. at Arms, and 7 of our chapter members were named to serve on one or more State committees. Charlie Day, previously State Vice Commander of the Color Guard, was moved up to Commander. One of the fun things at the Annual meeting is the Youth Luncheon when the various JROTC, Elementary Posters, Essay and Eagle contest winners are recognized. Withlacoochee’s Eagle Scout Scholarship Winner, Jeremiah Lovestrand of Floral City, was honored as the State’s first place Winner. He was presented a Bronze Eagle statue and a $1,000 check. We were all proud to be with Jeremiah and his parents at the luncheon. The Friday night Banquet included awards. Withlacoochee won 2nd place in the Chapter Challenge, 2nd place in the Publicity Contest (included a $125.00), and 4th place in the Elementary School Poster Contest. Saturday night banquet included installation of Officers and the Ladies Auxiliary “basket Sales”. Withlacoochee Ladies Auxiliary members present were Ellie Folk, Lillian Gingrich and Dot Day.
